Gluten Free Burritos

While I was doing research for great easy, quick and everyday meal ideas to share for this month’s article, my husband said, “Why don’t you write about the burritos? What could be easier than those?” He was absolutely right! Weighing the risk of sounding too much like an advertisement and our goal of providing gluten-free solutions to our readers, being true to our goal won out.
Glutenfreeda Burritos are now widely available throughout the US and Canada and have brought the convenience of a hand-held meal back into the lives of people on a gluten-free diet. These first of their kind burritos are the perfect quick meal for breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner and can be ready to serve in just 2-1/2 minutes, and as my husband stated, “What could be easier than that?”
These satisfying burritos are available in 4 great flavors; Chicken & Cheese, Beef & Potato, Vegetarian Bean & Cheese, Vegetarian and Dairy-free, Shredded Beef, Chipotle Chicken with Black Beans and Roasted Pork Verde.
These are terrific meals to keep on hand in the freezer for those ‘no time to cook’ moments. The burritos are authentic tasting and therefore will be enjoyed by the whole family, so you don’t have to worry about cooking separate meals but can serve them to everyone.
The burritos can be eaten, as is hand-held or placed on a plate and garnished with salsa, sour cream, guacamole or other flavorful toppings.
Here are some great topping ideas:
Jalapeno Cream Sauce: This is one of our favorite sauces for burritos, tacos or any Latin flavored dish!
- 1/2 jalapeño pepper, seeded & chopped fine
- 1 large garlic clove, minced & mashed into a paste with 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup créme fraîche or sour cream
To make the jalapeno cream:
In a small bowl, mix together jalapeño pepper, garlic paste and créme fraîche or sour cream. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
